I don’t know about you, but it is a rule in our house to always take a shower and change from outside clothes to home clothes before lying on the bed and even the couch.
Why? Because the outside environment is filled with dirt that could have stuck to your clothes.

Shake Off Your Bed Every Morning
When making your bed in the morning, don’t just fold the blankets and reposition the pillows.
Before doing so, shake the bed off to get rid of hair, dust, and dirt that could have landed and settled on the bed.
Do this daily so no dust or dirt accumulates and sticks on the bed permanently.
Hair is inevitable as regular individuals experience hair loss daily. So, make your bed and shake all crumbs and debris off every morning!
Vacuum Your Bed Regularly
If you make your bed daily and you shake off dust and dirt from the sheets, blankets, and pillows regularly, that doesn’t mean that you don’t have to vacuum it daily, too.

NOTE: I do the vacuuming at least once per week to get rid of the stuck and hard dirt on the sheets, blankets, pillowcases, and even the mattress protectors.

Regular maintenance of your bed sheets and linens also helps in making sure that your bed remains smooth.
In my case, I always change the bedding once every 2 weeks. I also change it right after having visitors stay inside the room.
NOTE: There are some types of fabric that produce crumbs and that fluff naturally. So, you also need to consider this.
Do Regular Pest Control For the Whole House
The last tip I have for you would be concerning bed bugs and other pesky pets that could be settling on your bed and beddings.
They can excrete waste, as well as shed their skins and shells, which would feel rough and sandy to the touch.
This is an indefinite solution if you have bed bugs not only on your bed but also in other pieces of your furniture.
