2. Remove the cover of the furniture (if it has any).
3. Vacuum the furniture.
4. Wash and dry the covers properly.
5. Spray the solution on the furniture.
6. Put the covers or linen back on the furniture.

In case you’re not familiar with anti-lice or flea sprays, you’ll find tons of them in the market. They’re usually sold cheaply and affordably so you don’t need to stress out about it.

In case you want to know what spray, you need to use on your furniture, don’t worry, I was able to dig deep into it!

In my research, I came across various products, some of which are commercial, some homemade. I will be discussing these with you so you have different options you can juggle.

Commercial Lice Home Spray

Of course, the most effective that I would recommend would be commercial lice home sprays.

You’ll find a lot of manufacturers offering home sprays for lice that have proven their effectiveness.

I personally use Tec Labs’ Licefreee spray. It’s a non-staining spray that’s effective in exterminating lice by contact.

Apart from this, there are a lot of other products out there that you can take advantage of.

Bleach

There have been numerous anecdotal experiences and discussions about bleach exterminating lice, and all of them were effective.

However, reports have shown that while it was effective in taking lice out, it did not stop the development of lice eggs.

So, bleach is effective in handling the current lice situation, but not these pesky insects’ eggs.

NOTE: In creating this solution, mix 3 parts of bleach with 4 parts of water and pour into a spray can. Spray the furniture infested with lice to get rid of them instantly.

Homemade Lice Sprays

When I found out about these homemade sprays, I always thought of them as my go-to for any lice situation I had at home.

There are a lot of DIY and homemade solutions for lice, and here are the best ones that I would recommend.

Tea Tree Oil Solution

A 2012 study by the National Library of Medicine stated that Tea Tree Oil has shown a better and more natural approach to exterminating lice compared to nerolidol.

Just 1% of Tea Tree Oil was enough to take out lice in just 30 minutes.

What if you have Tea Tree Oil at 5%?

To create the Tea Tree Oil solution, follow these steps:

1. Mix 1 tablespoon of Tea Tree Oil with 3 tablespoons of water.
2. Shake and combine the mixture thoroughly.

NOTE: Before applying the mixture, make sure you vacuum the furniture first. Get rid of dust, dirt, or loose lice on the furniture.

Essential Oil Solution

Another homemade solution you can do is the combination of essential oils – about 80 drops. Yes, you read it right, 80 drops!

I know what you’re thinking, ”aren’t 80 drops a bit too much?” It could be, but for lice, they’re never “too much.”

This solution doesn’t just consist of essential oils. Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

• Essential Oils
• Vodka
• Clean Warm Water

What you’ll need is to mix the essential oils with about 8 to 10 ounces of water.

Then, introduce the vodka to dissolve the mixture effectively. You’ll want about 3 to 5 ounces of vodka, depending on how well you want the mixture to be.

For the oils, you can use anything, but what I would consider mandatory would be Tea Tree Oil (20 drops), Eucalyptus (20 drops), and Peppermint Oil (20 drops).

Pour it into a spray bottle, and voila, you have an effective, cheap, and affordable homemade lice furniture spray.

NOTE: You’ll need to shake and mix it up before you spray it. Otherwise, the oils would situate at the top of the mixture and would deem ineffective.

Rubbing Alcohol

Last, but most definitely not least is the classic rubbing alcohol solution.

This is the easiest yet deemed to be the most effective way before any of these homemade solutions came to be.

It involves the use of rubbing alcohol and a comb. Generously apply to rub alcohol to the comb, but not to the point that it’ll be soaking wet.

Then, continuously rub it on the surface of the furniture. In doing this, you will find that most of the lice will come out, and eventually, they’ll stop moving.

NOTE: Do remember that in using rubbing alcohol, they’ll need to be exposed to rubbing alcohol for at least 10 minutes for them to be exterminated.
